"When it's 9:00 in London, what time is it in Tokyo and San Francisco?" Checking time differences for meetings with overseas teams or remote work comes up constantly, yet existing time zone apps require entering times or calculating city by city. Worse, the most common mistake with time zones is not the hour but the date difference, causing midnight meeting mishaps and missed communications. There was a need for a tool that lets you read the relationship between cities at a glance, without calculating.
Built with Flutter for both iOS and Android. The app eliminates time entry altogether: the cursor at the center of the screen stays fixed while you drag the time axis sideways like advancing a strip of film, moving the times of all listed cities in unison. The axis glides with inertia when released and snaps to 15-minute increments. Each city row shows a day/night band computed from sunrise and sunset, so you can tell it's midnight there without reading a number. Date-difference badges (+1/-1) relative to the first city prevent overlooked date shifts. Time zone data (IANA tzdata) is bundled into the app for a fully offline design with zero network communication and no account. Accessibility was a priority: VoiceOver reads each row as a single sentence, and vertical swiping is provided as an alternative to horizontal dragging.
Released on both the App Store and Google Play as an in-house product. Supporting 100 time zones and 16 languages, with no ads, no in-app purchases, and no network communication, the app works identically in airplane mode or underground. From business trips abroad to meeting coordination across offices and remote-work scheduling, Anywhen replaces time zone "calculation" with simple "reading."
